3 Month Old Puppy Needs Surgery for Broken Leg

On Sunday afternoon, Bleue fractured the bottom part of her humerus, right at the elbow joint, making her elbow completely unstable. She is in a splint right now, but it will not heal with the splint alone. The bones need to be stabilized and this will require an orthopedic surgeon.

She was playing outside in a very safe environment and we are not sure what happened. Neil noticed that she wasn't running around and found her huddled in a corner. He called to her, but she could only cry, unable to put any weight on her front right leg. The vet told us that this can happen with puppy's, she probably just landed on it wrong, a freak accident. 

We are working with our local vet to get her in to see an orthopedic surgeon, anxious to learn more. Right now, we have been told to expect between $4,000 and $6,000 for the surgery. Her emergency visit last night was over $700. 

We adopted Bleue just a month and a half ago, a few days before she turned two months old. She is a pit mix and was rescued from a high kill shelter in California. She has stolen our heart and Tillie's too (our 3 year old pup). 

The surgery will need to happen as soon as possible, but without help, it is just too much. Please share her story so we can give her the long, healthy life she deserves and if you are able to contribute, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
