3 Month Old Puppy Needs Surgery for Broken Leg

On Sunday afternoon, Bleue fractured the bottom part of her humerus, right at the elbow joint, making her elbow completely unstable. She is in a splint right now, but it will not heal with the splint alone. The bones need to be stabilized and this will require an orthopedic surgeon.

He called to her, but she could only cry, unable to put any weight on her front right leg. The vet told us that this can happen with puppy's, she probably just landed on it wrong, a freak accident.

We are working with our local vet to get her in to see an orthopedic surgeon, anxious to learn more. Right now, we have been told to expect between $4,000 and $6,000 for the surgery. Her emergency visit last night was over $700.

Much love and gratitude,
Neil, Jen, Tillie Bug and Little Bleue
