$5 for Hurricane Harvey Victims

Donation protected
In 2011, I lost everything I had in a tornado and my teacher started a fund for me. WORDS can't describe the gratitude I had for the help I received; it provided me with necessities as I had to rebuild my life. Now, here I am 6 years later trying to "pay it forward". The week of the tornado I asked my followers if they knew anyone who was effected/displaced by the storms, I have hand-picked 3 families from Houston who have suffered devastation from Hurricane Harvey. My goal is to help these families financially. I am asking everyone to donate $5 until we reach $9,000, with the hope of giving each family $3,000.  I (Trey/Jimmie Moore) will be collecting the funds and distrubting them directly to the families through bank deposits or western union, I will also will be posting receipts and updates after the deposts are made.  I have talked to each family and below are their stories.

Patrizia Mcqueen:
I am a mother of two. With the help of habitat for humanity, I worked my way off of public housing to purchase my first home . Saturday evening, I kissed my children good night and went to sleep. At five o'clock on Sunday morning, my body alarm went off and I woke up to step in knee-deep, water. I began to panic. I rushed to the kids room and found their toys floating. Water was running out of the walls. I tried to save everything I could. When I opened the door, more water rushed in. I had to drop everything in my hands. I was devastated. We saw that our cars were submerged in water up to the trunk. Only thinking of my children, I grabbed a backpack and stuffed it with their clothes. I had to put my daughter on my back and told my son to hold on to me and that we would be ok. Gladly, my son is taller than me because the water was chest deep. Once we finally made to safety, I received a phone call from my neighbor stating that another neighbor was trapped with her two infants. I had no choice but to go back and help. Thank you for hearing my story. I'm trying to remain positive even though I've lost everything, I'm alive and so is my family.

Hannah Davis:
We have lived in Houston our entire lives and we have never seen such devastation. After having our first child 5 months ago, my fiance, Jake, and I have been living on one income and sticking to a budget, so that I could stay home to raise our daughter. Just before the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, we spent our entire savings to pay off some of our debt, so that we could pay off Jake's car. Unfortunately, we only could afford to put liability insurance on it, so that is a total loss for us. We left our home with the items that we could carry and what we couldn't grab is now under water - furniture, clothes, toys, everything is gone. We never expected this to happen to us. Water is continuously rising in our apartment because of the reservoir releases. We are currently sleeping on an air mattress with our daughter at my sister's house. Any help that we receive to get us back on our feet and into a new apartment will be greatly appreciated.

Kimberly Grover :
My fiancé and I have three kids and we were directly affected by Hurricane Harvey; along with other Houstonians. We lost our vehicles, home and everything in it. We evactuated only with the clothes on our backs and a few non-perishable items. Hearing your children say, "Mama, I'm hungry or Mama, can we go home now," is very heartbreaking because they don't understand the full extent of what has happened I know and that I can't provide them with any of what they're asking for. We thank you in advance for any of your contributions. It is truly appreciated. Please pray for us as we try to recover from this traumatic experience.
