Estella needs a Medical Bed

Donation protected
Hello I'm Angela Kesauer, a single mother to my daughter Estella. She is in great need of a Medical Safety Bed.

Estella was diagnosed with cataracts, which made her blind, and a brain malformation when she was 5 months old. This makes her severely physically and mentally disabled. Currently she is 4 years old but acts more like an 7-8 month old baby.

Estella is unable to stand, walk, talk, nor feed herself. She has hypotonia which include problems with mobility and posture, breathing and speech difficulties, ligament and joint laxity, poor reflexes, and muscle strength. She was also diagnosed with Infantile Spasms, a type of Epilepsy, which she had to go through a month of receiving injections from myself. Her seizures are now under control.  The cataracts were removed but she no longer has lenses in her eyes. The doctor can not replace those until she reaches teenage years. So right now she wears large bottlecap glasses to see. With her glasses off she is mostly blind.

I am asking for your help because her insurance keeps denying us for the safety bed and I cannot afford the cost by myself. They want to put her in a regular hospital bed with rails. This would be extremely dangerous for her! When she was in her crib she would thrash and move so much she would wake up with cuts, bruises, and bumps. She doesn't have any control over her body so she falls easily and can't react fast enough to catch herself. Plus, when it's bedtime she has her glasses off so she can't see anything. Right now she is sleeping in a 3'x3' play pen that has a dog bed for a mattress. The play pen has mesh sides so she doesn't hurt herself, but she's getting very tall and cannot stretch out in it anymore. It's probably not too comfortable.

I just really want Estella to have a bed to sleep in which I won't have to worry about her getting injured in, falling out of, or hanging herself on( which would probably happen if it was a regular hospital bed, she'd get stuck between the bars). She is the love of my life and I want the best I can give her. She deserves a less complicated life. I do the best I can.

Thank you all very much. Your generosity means the world to us.
