Help us "Rock the 'Boat"! After a two year hiatus from Steamboat, it's time to return to continue the party started at The Powder Room in 2009!
The love affair with Steamboat stretches back to when I learned to ski here when I was seven years old. Since then I have watched this idyllic mountain town gain international recognition as a destination ski resort, with its champagne powder and aspen skiing.
Over the decades I have watched major changes to the base area, and have followed the comings and goings of bars and nightclubs. In the coming years, the base area is poised to grow and needs to have the nightlife to support the growing tourism that is blossoming from just winter to being a year round resort.
Would you help me achieve my goal? I'm looking to create a fun old fashioned cowboy saloon to compliment Steamboat's history as a ranching community, with a menu focused on tapas of local wild game. Funds will also support adding a "speakeasy" style dance club to the mix!
Due to difficulties with coming to an agreement with the landlord over his obligation to provide kitchen and bar equipment for the project it has become crucial to raise this cash in order to get open and running. All of the equipment for the space will cost close to $30,000.
In addition to the gifts provided on the different levels of donations, each donor of $500 or less will receive repayment of original donation based upon the success of the business. Donors of $1,000 or more will receive profit sharing on the value of the business after 3 years equal to 1/2% per $1,000 donated. (as an example-if the business is valued at $100,000 after three years, a donation of $1,000 would receive a payout of $500 in addition to the gift for donating)
