STEM Program

Hello my name is Isaiah Nhar-Matko, a freshman from Johnston Senior High. I have been nominated for academic recognition as a Delegate representing Johnston Senior High and the State of Rhode Island. I am one of the few nominees selected to attend the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders from June 29 to July 1, 2018 in Boston Massachusetts.

The Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders is a highly selective national program honoring academically superior high school students dedicated to careers in science, technology engineering or math (STEM). I’ve been selected because of my outstanding academic record, leadership potential and desire to contribute to the field of science or technology

This Program will give me the opportunity to meet:
Winners of the Nobel Prize
Deans and professors of the top universities (such as Neil Gershenfeld, Pd.D)
World leaders in science (Dean Kamen, globally renowned inventor)
Our nation’s most innovative and successful technologists (Dr. Gates, America’s most renowned theoretical physicists)
Award winning young inventors and scientists (Eric Chen, researches new drugs to fight influenza virus)
I will be guided by some of the greatest minds in science and technology - people who are leading humanity into the miracles of the 21st century such as Dr. Raibert, who made huge changes to the field of robotics.

I can meet people my age who share the same passion in science and technology and see amazing inventions made by world-changing researchers, futurists and technologists

At the close of the program I will be presented with an award inscribed by the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists Award of Excellence. This award and the certificates showing that I attended the program will enhance my academic profile and help me get into MIT. I want to go into MIT because I am interested in technology and how it works. I want to become a computer engineer or a white hat hacker. As an computer engineer you get to learn all about how a computer works hardware wise and as a white hat hacker you can learn how a computer works program/software wise.

The cost to go to this program is $1600. It is very expensive but I believe it is worth it. The program will allow me to meet with people in the field of STEM who have gone to schools like MIT. It will also give me a better chance to go into MIT.
