From Kitty:
"My sister and I talked w my mom's Dr today and he cleared a great deal up. He explained why her health has declined quickly this year.

She has a possible tumor near her brain stem, therefore too risky to operate on -so they are going to do radiation.

This year, she has had trouble swallowing and lost the use of her legs. I don't know how my father has done it taking care of her!

She had a feeding tube put in this week and she is having to go to a full care facility. I have no idea how in the world my father is going to afford this. They have Medicare and some savings from my dad's minister salary, nothing flashy!

They don't have many earthly treasures but have stored them up in Heaven! They have blessed many families and several of my friends personally by their generosity --of their hearts and their time. From giving rides home when a friend was walking or stuck at the school, staying with them if they got scared when their parents worked, counseled many teens in person and by phone, took many families meals, gave several of my friends a ride to church and lots of events, volunteered at schools and somehow, never missed one event my sister and I did, even if they were lame. Years later, my dad has married many of my friends and tenderly gone to funerals of my friend's children. He has such a shepherd's heart.

They are 78 &81 and still bring me comfort. Recently, my husband and I have gone through a huge trial that devastated us. My parents called and were crying with us on the phone and they wished they could be with us. I told them they are here with me. I said every prayer they ever prayed, every Sunday school class, revival or church service - it all stuck. It was because of them that I have my faith today.

My sister and I had an amazing childhood. We never once doubted their devotion to us and we went to bed every night feeling safe and loved. We never had "stuff" and we never cared!

If you knew my parents and were blessed to know them, I am going to include their address in case you want to send a note of encouragement.
