Doug's Hurricane Harvey Fund

Hurricane Harvey has hit Houston, the surrounding areas and our families in a way that we could have never imagined. In those times, we relied on the media to give us day-to-day updates on how to prepare, what was happening, how to stay safe and when to evacuate.

As many of you know, my brother Doug is a PhotoJournalist for a news station. He left his apartment on Thursday, prior to the storm and spent the following week reporting to all of us what was happening with the storm. He was out working late nights, in often dangerous conditions, to take video footage of the devastation, the suffering and giving people hope behind the lens of his camera. What many of us did not realize is that while he was out reporting for us, his apartment was flooding. His place is right along the Buffalo Bayou and as of today, it is still under water. He did not have time to prepare for the storm. He did not have the time to go back to his place and save his belongings. All he had time for was to keep the public up to speed on what was going on.

During this entire time, his last thoughts were for his place. He was constantly checking on friends and family and making sure everyone was safe. That's because that's the type of person that he is. Always putting others before himself.

I struggled a lot with whether to do a page like this for him because I know that he will always say that he was doing his job and for that I am extremely proud.

I've had so many people ask how they can help so that's why I created this page.

Please know that any donations in excess of what he needs will be re-directed back to other victims of Hurricane Harvey.
