Family Of 4 Loses Everything in Fire

Donation protected

The scariest call to get on your way to work has to be the call wanting to know your daughter's address because there is a structure fire with a family with two small boys possibly inside. The panic and fear that sets in keeps you from even being able to dial your daughter's phone number correctly. When you finally do it right it goes right to voicemail, strike even more panic! When my daughter (Robin) called me back, she was in hysterics.. trying to race to the address just like I was. She told me she had left early for work and brought the boys to day care but her husband (Bruce) was still home sleeping and she couldn't reach him on his phone. When we arrived at the scene, blocked off by firetrucks and police, we were horrified to see it WAS their home up in flames! Some relief came when I heard my son in law was in the ambulance. Apparently he woke up because of the smoke, frantic and disoriented he ran searching for his wife and boys. (He was asleep when they left) He tried to get downstairs but the fire was too hot and the smoke overwhelming! He broke a window and jumped from the second floor. The firefighters said that he wouldn't get in the ambulance at first because he was afraid his family was in the house. Bruce is being treated for injuries at the hospital but I thank God that they are all safe! It breaks my heart to have to tell my grandchildren that everything's gone. Their sweet 3 year old dog and pet snake included. Julian is 6 years old and Jackson is 3. I will stress the importance that they still have each other and that's what really matters. ♡ I'm hoping to raise enough funds to help them put their lives back together. We sometimes take for granted the things we have like clothes, shoes, toys and a place we call home...What do you do when thats all gone? The concern, caring and generosity being expressed already is appreciated more than you know!
