Laraghbryan Cemetery Upkeep fund
We need your support to continue to look after this beautiful and peaceful graveyard.
1 mile west of Maynooth it is a graveyard based around an old ruined church. The ruined church was part of a church built in Norman times, however this church was built on the site of a previous ecclesiastical settlement.
The upkeep and maintenance of the graveyard is managed and undertaken by a local voluntary committee.
Funding to pay for the upkeep of the cemetery came from 3 main sources

Church gate collection
KCC grant
This year, due to COVID, the first two have had to be cancelled, hence no money collected and Kildare CC have halved this years grant, so we have gone from income last year of 15,500 to 4500 this year.
Still the grass has to be cut , weeds controlled, seats painted, insurance to be paid and all the other general maintenance need to be carried out,
Now we are running out of money and if we we don't receive funding we will have to stop the grass cutting and maintenance of the graveyard
