As most of you know, Billy will be having an upcoming Liver Transplant, his Brother Bob will be donating 60% of his liver to his brother. Billy will be needing this transplant to save his life! He has been suffering for years with PSC (Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis) in other words A disease of the Bile Ducts.
PSC is a disease primarily of the bile ducts, both inside and outside of the liver. The walls of the bile ducts become inflamed and the inflammation causes scarring and hardening that narrows the bile ducts. Because bile cannot drain properly through the ducts, it accumulates in the liver causing damage to liver cells. Eventually so much bile is accumulated, it seeps into the bloodstream. Finally, with long term cell damage, the liver develops Cirrhosis and it can no longer function properly. PSC is associated with inflammatory Bowel disease and ulcerative Colitis which goes along with the Crohn's Disease in which he has.
He will be on medication the rest of his life and there will be many doctors appointments in his future as you know doctors are not cheap, his co-pay for this surgery will be costing around 10,000.00. I have had many people inbox me and ask me about a setting up one of these pages so here we are! Any donation is greatly appreciated!!
