Young Stoke Survivor

Hello, my name is Erica. I am currently 20 years old and I live in Gilbert, Arziona with my mom, boyfriend and our two dogs. Recently my mom has become very sick. On June 5th my mom suffered from a stroke, many strokes the doctors said they don't know how long it had been going on either. They said it has due to uncontrolled high blood pressure. We got lucky and that she had no obvious signs of a stroke and she was cleared to go back to work on August 1st. She is only 48 years old and is the youngest person the doctors had seen to have multiple strokes. Everything was going well, we were seeing all of the doctors and physical therapy cleared her and said she didn't even need therapy which was awesome news. Until July 20th, my mom and I were running errends and my mom had fallen. She said she just tripped so we went on our way. Later on I started noticing that her face had started drooping and I knew I had to take her in to the ER. They took us back in fast and started running tests, and concluded that she indeed had another stroke. This one however was worse than the last. She has slurred speech, left side weakness, memory loss, and facial drooping. The doctors also came back to tell us that these stroke are caused by a mechial error in her genetic makeup. Something called "protein c" which makes her blood pressure rise without question. They also implanted a loop recorder to check for afib. We are now two weeks out of the hospital and up to our heads in medical bills. My mom and I are never ones to ask for help but in this case we have to. My mom is unable to return to work. My boyfriend and I are her full time care takers, and the providers. We both work full time jobs and I am looking for a part time job just to keep us afloat for the time being. I was in school for nursing and Daven is in school for engineering. Daven will be returning to school this fall and I will not because I need to be there for my mom as much as possible.
