Haiti August Trip

Hi Family and Friends. I hope all is well with you!


First of all, thank you so much for support and for praying for me on my last trip to Haiti. It meant so much to me. It touched my heart greatly and I haven't been able to shake the feeling that I'm supposed to return to Haiti and God has recently opened the door for me to do this.
My good friend, Gloria Board, of Haitians Helping Haitians, is taking a Ministry Support team to Haiti August 3rd-10th. The focus is on training, building, and aiding the people in La Gonave, Montrouis, and Port au Prince, Haiti. There will be a soccer camp which will focus on the skills for the game and also a huge opportunity to share the Gospel not only with the children but also the adults attending the games. We will also host three nights of revival for the youth in several churches in Port au Prince. The youth in Haiti turn away from God at a young age and engage in activities that hurt both them and their families both spiritually and psychologically. These meetings will build up the youth of Haiti in their faith by using drama, dance, and the Word of God. We will also host a three day teaching training program for Sunday School teachers from different churches in Port au Prince and teachers at the two schools HHH supports. This program is set up to train teachers to use the Word of God to teach children both academically, emotionally, and spiritually. We will also be feeding the families of all of the people of these communities and providing them with necessities, including bags of rice.
This team will also be serving with YWAM Haiti friend, Patrick, to minister to the people in prison in St. Marc. We will have a worship service, pray for the people there, and distribute shoes and toiletries. This team will also host a healing room. The healing room will be in the ministry home where HHH already holds daily prayer meetings with people in the community and local churches. The difference in this meeting will be that people in the community who are ill will attend the prayer meetings on a weekly basis so they can receive ministry. We also have 3 doctors going on this trip who will help us with setting up a make-shift clinic.
The entire cost for this trip is $1200, which includes airplane tickets, luggage, transportation in Haiti, and meals. I'm also hoping to raise funds to feed the children in the soccer camp, the youth at the revival meetings, and the teachers we will be training. Many of you heard about one of the little girls who fainted during a class because the parents can't feed her. We don't want to do activities that will exhaust the chidren and not feed them especially since we can't be certain whether or not they have food at home.
