Dr. Mary McCampbell, Fire Relief

Donation protected
On December 28, 2016, just three days after Christmas, Dr. McCampbell's home and belongings burned in a fire. Beyond everyday items, I mourn her loss of her books, movies, records, and personal archives.

Dr. Mary McCampbell taught me to think critically, to read with empathy, and to always remember the effective power of dialogue and conversation. Over the years, many of us, as her students, have grown because of the tireless efforts of this wonderful professor.

Because of her classes, we will never again encounter film, literature, or music the same way. By constantly presenting important, relevant, and relatable content in our classes, from Kanye West to Douglass Copeland, from Baudrillard to Nietzsche, she challenged us to uncover intersections and parallels in the human experience. The result? Human beings that are not content to consume entertainment lazilly, but rather ask the bigger questions about meaning, love, and redemption.

Please, join me in this modest effort to help make her challenge easier. This drive is an effort to reach back to our professor - our friend and our mentor - and join her in solidarity as she faces the coming season of reconstruction. Give anything you can, and after you've given please reach out in love to Dr. McCampbell to assure her that not only has she helped positively shape our becoming as human beings, but that her life and work merit the grandest extention of benevolence possible.

All proceeds of this campaign will go directly to Dr. Mary McCampbell to use in her season of reconstruction.
