Tim Brown is our friend and coworker. He is a leader in the glazing industry, serving our community since 1987. Tim supports our Morgan Hill Project Management team and serves as our Project Executive, responsible for overseeing the prolific progress of our projects through completion and beyond.
In May 2019, Tim started experiencing inexplicable symptoms that required multiple trips to the doctor for help. The symptoms were intense, troubling and downright scary. Tim needed a blood transfusion; he was anemic. After that, everything happened so quickly. He was hospitalized on several occasions. He ended up in the ICU with pneumonia. Then we received the call. Tim was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.
What is Multiple Myeloma? Multiple Myeloma is a rare, incurable blood cancer of the plasma cells, a type of white blood cell which originates in the bone marrow. Plasma cells help you fight infections by making antibodies that recognize and attack germs. Multiple Myeloma causes cancer cells to accumulate in the bone marrow, where they crowd out healthy blood cells. Symptoms of Multiple Myeloma include anemia, fatigue, bone pain, kidney failure, weight loss, nausea, muscle weakness, mental confusion, fever, infections, blood clots, nose bleeds and several other life altering side effects. There is currently no cure for Multiple Myeloma.
Tim is currently enduring chemotherapy. He has weekly treatments and blood work. This is a major impact on Tim’s life, to say the very least. In less than two months’ time, Tim already lost roughly 60 pounds to cancer. They say you never really realize how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
Not only is Tim our trusted friend, leader and mentor but he is also a dedicated husband and a devoted father with both adult and minor children. He is the sole provider for his family; they mean everything to him. Tim’s love for his family and friends is second to none. We miss his awful dad jokes.
