Aloha! We are Halau Hula O Ku'upuailima from Wailua, Kaua'i our halau has been in existence for 25 years with humble beginnings that started in Nanakuli back in 1993.
Our dance group is built on a strong foundation of Hawaiian values, Hula and Pono (righteousness). My goal as a instructor is to inspire the youth to become global leaders that are rooted in culture. Our intention is to bring positive change for the future. We hope to inspire the next generation to do the same. Our halau helps to to keep kids off the streets and accountable to their education as well as their home life. My hope is to give the kids opportunities that will enrich their lives giving them the confidence to become future leaders and serve their community.
Our Youth group is planning an educational learning excursion to the island of Hilo for the Annual Merrie Monarch Hula Competition April 3-8, 2018. The intention of this excursion is to increase cultural awareness, knowledge and wisdom of our ancestors before us from the masters of today.
On our excursion we will be studying about various area's from Kona to Puna. As part of our learning experience we plan to visit sacred area's to give reverence and ho'okupu. Our excursion will also include visiting Charter Schools that are off the grid and thriving. In the evenings we plan to attend the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival where the learning increases and goes deep.

Flights : $3500.00
Accommodations: $4700.00
Transportation: $1800.00
Our time is limited and we need to raise these funds expeditiously. If you would like to support me in giving these keiki of Kaua'i an enriched learning experience of a lifetime I would be most appreciative. Think of it as our investment for the future.
