Laps 4 Laura: "Run Over Cancer"

Laura Gallegly was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2010 at the age of 25. With the support of her family and friends, she beat her diagnosis and became cancer free one year later. Now married to her high school boyfriend Jay for almost two years, they planned to start a family and settle into their new home in Oklahoma City. Unfortunately, Laura's cancer returned in March of this year, and she now has to undergo surgery and another round of chemotherapy. As you know, cancer can be very expensive. We want to be able to help Laura with these many expenses.

With her persistent determination and positive attitude, we are certain that Laura will beat her diagnosis again. Laura not only is a colleague to many of us at Sequoyah, but she is a friend. Teaching 7th grade Spanish for 4 years, she is loved by all of her students. She is a wonderful teacher and mentor to so many. Her vibrant personality and fun loving spirit is contagious. During this time of hardship, her friends, family, colleagues, and students want to show her how much we love and support her. She has touched the lives of so many and this is our way of saying thanks. We also want to express our support to Jay, Laura's husband, and their two dogs, Oliver and Wendy.
