Help Us Re-Locate

UPDATE;

Sadly another person who happens to work for the people that did the wrong by us, has decided to go into the building, cut all camera cords, take equipment, damage equipment, and turn off all fridges and freezers so thousands of dollars of food wasted.

Shame it still records to my phone and others, cameras are now back in place and the police have been notified. 


What this is about:

We are a small team that has recently had our cafe taken from beneath us, over $95,000 spent, hard work, tears, long days and now we have nothing left.

Please read below for a back story.



Why I need help:

I'm not one to ask for help but after much feedback from friends, families and customers I decided to make the gofundme page to help continue my dream with my team to push further.

I finished up at a local restaurant on Mount Tamborine, I was invited to be 50/50 partnership in a small little Indian joint where I thought this would be great for my career and I can begin a little cafe. I began renovations with the help massively from my parents, we sunk $95,000 within two months. At 25 years old, and I'm sure at any age that is a lot of money, and for my retired parents who were trying to help me achieve my goal it was also a lot.

Once the money was being spent on the renovations, I asked my 'business' partner when they would be putting any money into the cafe, or actually spending some time there. Neither of those were done, not one cent was ever spent. 

My mistake was that I did not sign an official lease. I had a verbal lease and sadly trusted the word of the 'main' person', who had the lease which was always telling me that it was being drawn up and it would be a legal binding document. Of course at 25 I accepeted that, not knowing much about business but trusting the word of someone eldery I thought they would do the right thing by myself and my team.

Once we started becoming succesful and earning money, said partner and the lease holder came in and changed the locks, and I have video recording, as well as a few other people who were there on the day saying 'now the cafe is setup, we have the equipment and can run this business and make money'.

All of our customers still aren't to sure on the reason why we would've just stopped trading, but everything above is the truth. 

Myself, my fiance and my parents are now massively out of pocket, again there's always a risk with going into business which I've had to learn the hard way, I'm paying back $455 a week to a company called silverchef to pay off equipment that I have to send back, not because I failed but because I was screwed over.

This is the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life, and we would love to goto another area and re-start our small cafe without any third parties involved.

A little run down on my history:

My name is Braedan, I am a 25 year old chef that has been cooking since 13. I started my apprenticeship on Mount Tamborine at the age of 14, and qualifed at 17. I've worked for quite a few restaurants, each and everyone I've worked easily over a 100+ hour week. All of those restaurants, I have been overworked and underpaid, try telling me that $950 after tax for a average of 100 hour work week is fair, well it's not but that's the career I've chosen. We chef because we enjoy what we do, we love the energy and to be totally honest cooking is the only thing I'm good at.

I've turned restaurants that were struggling into something very positive, if you can see when we started Angels Fusion we were lucky to have five people a day, towards the end we'd average 50 a day.

Any donation is much apprecicated, it will be a struggle for us and we'd love to relocate we sadly just do not have any funds to back us.
