Kenneth Hale's lung transplant
Donation protected
Please meet Kenneth Hale Sr. He is 58 years old. He was born and raised in Hot Springs, Ark., but he’s now living in Phoenix. Kenneth is divorced and has two adult children and a few friends where he now lives.
Kenneth needs your assistance in getting beyond his newest challenge. He has a terminal lung disease called pulmonary fibrosis and a double-lung transplant is his only option for living. The Mayo Clinic Phoenix Campus in Scottsdale, Ariz., has recently agreed to add him to its Lung Transplant waiting list.
Since 2003, Kenneth has been aware of a lung issue but it was not until 2010 that the Mayo Clinic confirmed the diagnosis and named his particular idiopathic disease. Today, despite Kenneth’s efforts to work out, he is forced to use oxygen around the clock. Without the transplant, he is at risk for respiratory failure, heart failure and even lung cancer.
Kenneth’s challenge is funding the support that’s needed to undergo this life-saving double-lung transplant and the care needed after the lung transplant. That will entail 24/7 home care for the next three to four months. Most of what is donated will be used to fly and house friends and family members who plan to come from Arkansas and other areas to help care for Kenneth.
Lee Ivory, Kenneth’s friend since childhood, has agreed to help in the set-up and hosting of this fund on Kenneth’s behalf. Assisting is Karen Ford - the sister of Carol Finger, who is Kenneth’s companion. We all love Kenneth very much and are praying that he survives this. We hope you will join us in sending up prayers for him.
We are asking Kenneth’s family members, friends and acquaintances to also help by donating money or time. Please donate to help Kenneth move from being a Survivor to a Thriver!!!
Kenneth thanks you and so do we!!
