Holly's Emergency Vet Trip

I started this after several people asked me too. I'm not totally comfortable doing it and not really sure how much to ask.  Apparently, I'm way better at asking money for dogs that aren't mine (we fundraise for Old Dog Haven) than I am for my own dogs. 

We adopted Holly last year and knew she had congestive heart failure but wanted to give her the best possible end of her life. 

She had been declining and we worked on a bucket list for her which had brightened her spirits. 

After a bath on Wednesday night, Holly coughed and then collapsed going lifeless but still breathing. Luckily, we live about 10 minutes from a 24-hour vet. They figured her Congestive Heart Failure had progressed and that she had fluid in her lungs.
They put her in an oxygen tank and gave her a medication called salix with she is already on but this was a super dosage. After an x-ray of her heart, it was determined that she was not in late-stage heart failure. 

They believe she had what is called Vasodepressor syncope (or fainting). Many dogs can recover from it without any need for medical intervention. But Holly is on a medication that lowers her blood pressure and so she was not able to get her blood pressure up naturally. This caused her to not get oxygen causing her to lose color in her gums. 

The initial estimate was basically a down payment on a car....and that was for 24 hours. It's looking like she could be there 2 days and possibly as much as 4. Which is why I am setting this up.
