Hi everyone. We’re Jackie and Jessica, Kristen’s younger sisters. Last month Kristen underwent a breast reduction which led to the horrifying finding that she has lobular carcinoma. It’s definitely a double edged sword that she had the surgery because sadly, she had the surgery somewhat for no reason. A painful recovery and debt, all to find out she will need a bilateral mastectomy. But thankfully she had it, otherwise we would have never found out she has breast cancer! Prior to her breast reduction, she had an ultrasound and two mammograms which revealed benign masses. However, during her procedure, the surgeon found multiple tumors the size of golf balls in each breast! This news has hit our family hard and by complete surprise. But, we know Kristen is so strong and will kick cancers butt!

The reason we started this gofundme is because Kristen needs to be positive and strong while concentrating on beating this, and not stressed over the huge financial burden this will be placing on her and her family. Our family is trying to help as much as possible, but her first surgery, her next two surgeries, and treatments are going to cost tens of thousands of dollars out of pocket. Not to mention the fact that her bilateral mastectomy will require her to be out of work for recovery for 4-6 weeks, unpaid. Then after that recovery, she’ll have a third surgery for reconstruction which will require additional time off for more recovery, unpaid. We’re not a family to ask for handouts, especially financially, but anything will truly help. We just want Kristen, her husband Ryan, and their two children Brayden and Addison to be able to focus on her recovery. Any amount is greatly appreciated, and all thoughts, prayers, and positive vibes Kristen’s way are welcomed!
