Donnie’s medical bills

Donation protected
On July 1, 2020, my husband Don was diagnosed with stage 3+ colon cancer that had invaded through the colon wall and into his lymph nodes.   At first, it was thought the cancer had metastasized to his lungs.    Many CT scans, MRI’s, blood work, doctor visits and chemo treatments followed.  We were blessed with being able to go to Mayo Clinic for his treatments, however, that is a 2 hour round trip drive.   Some weeks we were there 3 and 4 times per week.    Department after department gets involved in the treatment, so the visits are many.   We got the good news of tumor size reduction and upcoming bowel resection surgery on 1/7/21.... so all the deductibles begin again.  We retired 5 years ago, and we’re getting into the full swing of enjoying it, when cancer hit.   He has good insurance, but nothing prepared you for the cost of seeing 6 separate departments in a day and the endless pile of leftover costs, not covered by our insurance.  Retirement brings fixed income and, even with good insurance, you begin to feel like you are drowning. Asking for help is the last thing I ever thought I would do... but here we are.      Our prayer warriors have been there beside us and with us since the beginning, and we know that God has answered our health prayers.   We are thankful for all of you who have prayed faithfully for his health.     Hod bless you all for listening
