Greetings! My name is Jordana, and I will travel half-way across the world this August 2013 to Australia on an important mission: to learn about threats to the Great Barrier Reef and all of the citizen corals, fishes, and animals these great cities host, AND to find solutions in helping to save them!
During my stay I am hosted by HQ Reef Aquarium in Townsville, Queensland, and I am spending days in the field and evenings in discussion with scientists, naturalists, and educators to discover sustainable solutions for protecting this delicate ecosystem.
There are many great success stories of people taking action to protect animals. With your help, I am able to directly bring back information I've learned about coral ecology, community-based conservation, and a learning strategy called "inquiry-based learning", to develop programs and spread the knowledge through my work and my global community.
It is my "big dream" to become the next Jacques Cousteau and share this important information with a wide public audience. Therefore, I am blogging, video recording, and sharing photos.
