Save The Ritz!

The Ritz Theatre is one of two remaining historical Theaters in Covington Tennessee. I have slowly been trying to fix the theatre as I go but the theatre has suffered from years of neglect. What was once a beautiful Art Deco theatre is now a building that is close to crumbling.
The roof is damaged and needs to be replaced immediately. Due to the roof being damaged, water has leaked into the building and caused excessive amounts of damage. The roof has collapsed in several areas. Black mold creeps up the walls and along the floors. The floors are so water logged that water seeps around our feet as we walk in the abandoned theatre. The floors cannot support weight and will collapse. The recent snow storm caused a pipe to burst and a large amount of water flooded the theatre leaking into the second story. The second story is flooded with the water. This only added to the destruction that was already caused by years old water damage and black mold. 

The Ritz Theatre is a beautiful piece of our town’s history and community. I want to bring this building back to life. Offer employment in our community, support local artist, and help out town grow and revitalize.  I, along with my law partners developed a company selling Java Bombs to help raise money for the theatre. 

However, the building needs help now. We areasking for help in anyway that someone can. A dollar is more towards the betterment of this building. Plumbers, roofers, contractors are allwelcome to help save the theatre. I am asking for help to save the Theatre that once stood proudly at the bottom of our square as a place of entertainment and joy. We look forward to show casing local artist, enriching education with theatre classes and camps for children, and being a place that people can come to everyday to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee and book.
