25 on the 25th
A Benefit for an Orphanage in Grand Goâve, Haiti

Purpose: A nationwide fundraiser promoting community involvement through physical activity. All proceeds will be donated to Britney Gengel's Poorest of the Poor Fund, Inc. which serves the children of Haiti by establishing a safe, nurturing and sustainable orphanage in an environment where they can grow, learn & thrive. The orphanage is located in Grand Goâve, Haiti and functions solely on donations and contributions.

On June 25, 2013 I will be 25 years old, thus making it my "Golden Birthday Year". I would like to make the day epic and memorable. So, why not hold a benefit for an orphanage in Grand Goâve, Haiti? Epic, memorable, and totally helps a special cause that is pretty close to my heart. In order to make this vision possible I need YOUR help!

Here's how you can participate in the 25 on the 25th event:

When: Tuesday, June 25, 2013
What: A fun 25 mile bike ride followed by a 2.5 mile fun run. *You can do one OR both of the events
Cost: $25 per person (same price for one or both events)
Location: Anywhere!
-West Coasters: We will be holding a fun 25 mile bike ride followed by a 2.5 mile fun run throughout San Francisco starting and ending at Sports Basement (610 Old Mason Street location)!!!
**Bike ride starts at 4pm (If you need to rent a bike, SB will be offering discounted rentals "“please arrive around 3:30pm if you plan on renting).
** The 2.5 mile fun run will follow after, starting at 6:30pm.
**Sports Basement will be hosting a free post-event party for all participants starting at 7pm with free food, beer, music, and high fives. (If you are not participating in the 25 on the 25th events, you can still join the post-event party for a
minimum $10 donation).
-The coolest part? If SF isn't within driving distance or time is not in your favor, then pick a location, grab some friends, donate your $25 buck-a-roos, and go run, bike, or do both events on June 25th!

**In an effort to make this a nationwide event, I am asking all participants to take a post-event photo, upload it to Facebook with the event(s) you did, and tag me in the picture (I will be making a collage to submit with the total amount donated).**

How To Get Involved: In order to be an "official" participant, I have created a fundraising website to collect donations. **If you are unable to participate in the 25 on the 25th event, but would still like to contribute: monetary donations can also be made on this website as well.

By participating in the 25 on the 25th event, you will be helping to provide nutritional support, education (it is a privilege and there is a fee to attend school in Haiti), and safety to Haitian orphans. Proceeds will contribute to the success and sustainability of the recently completed two story orphanage in Grand Goâve, Haiti. The orphanage was built in memory of Britney Gengel who lost her life, along with the 230,000 other lives, during the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12, 2010. For more information on the Gengel's and Brit's orphanage visit: belikebrit.org

BUT if biking or running are not your favorite pastimes: I am asking for a commitment of some form of physical activity on June 25, 2013. The cost will still be $25PP and can be submitted to this website as well!

**Some alternative examples include:
- A Crossfit WOD centered around 25 reps
- 25 laps in a swimming pool
- Hoola hoop dance party for 25 minutes
- Walking 25 laps around a track: etc.
- Be creative, but more importantly HAVE FUN celebrating this 25 on the 25th "Golden Birthday" epic, nationwide movement! Bam!
-p.s. If you do not own/have access to a bike, stationary bikes at your gym still count! "“just sayin'!
