Hello everyone,
My colleagues and I are working hard to plan and test our hypothesized treatment for arthritis. The plan is to target specific parts of the cartilage. If our results are positive, then we would have a solution capable of both preserving cartilage from being broken down and creating more.
We have people with many different backgrounds, biomolecular engineering, computer science, chemistry, etc., collaborating on this project. The complete project plan is already laid out and it is ready to be followed, so any funds would be appreciated and used as soon as possible.
Most of the funding will go towards the chemicals needed for extraction, purifications, and culturing of cells. The remaining amount will be used for materials such as measuring devices, pipettes, and syringes.
20 to 27 million people, in the United States alone, suffer from osteoarthritis. This is a possibility to help them. If successful, we will be able to alleviate their pain and let them go on with their lives not having to worry about joint pain in the near future.
