World Masters Games

Thank you for visiting my page and considering supporting me on my way to the World Masters Games.
My journey into the sport of weightling:
I first grew interested in the sport watching the 2008 Olympics. The amount of weight seemed like a lot the athletes were throwing around, but I really had no appreciation for the skill, power, and immense dedication the sport requires. In 2009 we added CrossFit to our business and that's when I learned a little more about the lifts and began learning how to coach them. My desire to compete was minimal, my primary focus was coaching. In 2010 I received my USAW level 1 and grew my understanding of coaching throughout that year. Finally, 2011 is when it hit me, I wanted to compete. At the age of 33, I decided I wanted to compete in a sport where most people get their start in their teens. That didn't matter to me, I was in love and willing to spend hours and hours under a heavy (that's relative, of course) bar. In 2012 I qualified for and competed at the American Open National Championships, as well as coached two other women at the event. We took home third place team, which was a very proud moment for me. In 2013, I was eligible to compete with the MASTERS! People my age. In June I will compete in the Pan Am Masters Championships in Chicago and my goals are to win my class and to leave the comp holding the records for the snatch, clean &jerk, and total. Thankfully, this year the comp is in our country, so the trip is more affordable.
What I am asking for:
The World Masters Games, which is the reason for this page, is being held in Turin, Italy. I am lucky enough to have qualified and have been convinced to go for this opportunity. I am asking for support in funding the travel expenses to participate in this event. Check out the WMG. My best competition lifts are 67kg snatch and 87kg c&j with a 154kg total. It is hard to predict who will compete at the WMG in weightlifting, but the previous year's best totals have been around the 160kg range. My goals are to have a great experience, lift well, bring home a medal, and help a teammate, Ernie, do the same. Not only do I get the chance to compete, but I'll have the chance to assist/coach Ernie at both the Pan Ams and World Masters events. I am grateful for both of these opportunities.
Thank you so much for helping me make this happen.
