Help Alan Fight!

Donation protected
Why do bad things happen to good people? I've found myself asking this time and time again, but this time it really hits hard. I met Alan through one of my best friends, Brittney 12 years ago. I knew they were perfect for each other because nobody else would put up with her unless it was true, unconditional love. I watched him show her unconditional love. I have watched them (and helped) make many moves, encouraged one another through college, made two beautiful sons together, and watched them come out even stronger through the challenging times. I feel that all of these trials have prepared them for God's next challenge. Any of you who know him will agree; Alan is as genuine of a man as they come. He serves the Lord as a Christian, a devoted husband, patient father, loving son and brother, and humble friend. He is so many wonderful things to so many.

Alan and Brittney have been given their next trial. Alan was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). He has already spent many days in the hospital, began receiving chemotherapy, blood and plasma. Luckily, Alan is strong and has already proven that he will beat this. He was able to be released much sooner than expected. Thank God he is able to be home with his wife and boys. I feel this will help him fight even harder.
This cancer comes with the obvious health issues, but also comes with the overbearing, not-so-obvious battle. The financial burden. While Alan is home fighting this, one thing he should not have to worry about is providing for his family. Alan has always been a provider; doing what he has to do to support and create a good life for his wife and boys. I know how hard this will be for him. Unfortunately Alan has not been with his new employer for a year, therefore does not qualify for FMLA. His short term disability will pay for a couple months, but they will be left to COBRA their insurance, as well as pay for the oral cancer medication which costs over $100,000 (before insurance) alone.
I am asking that if you find yourself reading this and would like to help, any donation would be appreciated. The financial burden is not something Alan should have to worry about while fighting for his health.

If you are unable to donate financially, I ask that you continue to pray. I believe in the power of prayer and know Brittney & Alan do as well.

Thank you for reading this & God Bless.
