Support Sandy so her boobs can rest

For those of you that know Sandy personally, casually or even professionally, there is probably little I could say that you haven't discovered yourself.

I have been acquainted with Sandy no less than 20 yrs and in every capacity mentioned above. Over the years these are a few of the things I've learned about her. She loves red wine, Cuervo Gold tequila, golden retrievers, dancing to 80's hair bands, visiting resorts, hanging with her sister-in-law, enjoys a good cup of coffee, she is passionate with work, her employees adore her, she loves her mom and dad who are a constant in her life and she is an incredible friend to all. Above all, her love for her family knows no boundaries. She is a law enforcement wife and mother to 3 beautiful children. Her love for all of them is as unique as they are.  As with any working mom of 3, she has often been overwhelmed with juggling multiple actives and the multiple personalities of growing teenagers. Sandy's many roles (as wife, mom, professional) have not always been easy but her ability to maneuver through everything life throws at her - often all at once- is beyond admirable. She always shoulders up to the task, takes responsibility, makes difficult decisions and sees them through. She is reliable, honest, compassionate and rarely do you see her sweat over something despite her countless hours of missed sleep and personal sacrifice.

Sandy is now facing what is likely her biggest challenge and she needs our help. She has been diagnosed with an extremely aggressive type of breast cancer and is gearing up for the battle of her life...for her life. She's currently meeting with several oncologists to determine proper treatment. She's had several procedures including removal of lymph nodes to help determine severity and treatment options. In order to undergo chemotherapy, doctors have advised Sandy that she needs to greatly reduce her stress and eliminate some of the balls she is juggling. She will need to focus on recovering from the chemo treatments and maintaining a positive mindset to beat the cancer. She has already undergone surgery and will be facing 12-24 weeks of chemo, then 33 rounds of radiation treatments followed by five years of medication. Unfortunately, short term disability does not provide her what she needs as her loss of income will be critical to sustaining her household. This certainly compounds the stress of the situation greatly and could degrade her ability to absorb her treatments and heal.

Many have asked what you can do. On the onset it is difficult to imagine how you can possibly help in an unthinkable situation such as this. The easy answer is to pray, be there when their family needs you, humbly count your own Blessings, donate to breast cancer research, OR donate directly to help them now. Whether it's a one-time donation or with each paycheck, anything counts! Share with your family, friends, co-workers, etc. Let them  know that a wonderful family needs their help!  If you cannot donate, your prayers and well-wishes are heartwarming and welcomed.
