Send Fritz to AWPC World Meet 8/29-9/1

Donation protected

Hi! My name is Elizabeth Fritz, and I'm trying to get to the Amateur World Powerlifting Conference's Meet in Idaho Falls, ID, this year.

Here's the scoop: in 2011, after living a really sedentary lifestyle and smoking for over a decade, I realized my health was suffering. Even scarier, I was putting my happiness with my husband in jeopardy! So, I quit smoking and took up yoga. Those two decisions were the first of a series of healthy ones that put me on the road to powerlifting!

After running, doing CrossFit, and learning how to live without nicotine, I tried powerlifting in October of 2012. For those who don't know, the sport of powerlifting consists of three lifts: the back squat, the bench press, and the deadlift. When I began this journey, I couldn't even squat properly, and was barely squatting 95 lbs. My bench was around 105 lbs., and my deadlift was 235 lbs.

Now, I'm squatting 220 lbs., benching 135 lbs., and deadlifting over 300 lbs. And that was just in six months of training.

On April 29th, I competed for the first time at the Amateur American Powerlifting Federation's National meet. I set three world records in my sub-master class (Super Heavyweight) and won the AAPF National medals for Open (SHW) and Sub-master (SHW). And I qualify to go on to World's.

My goals for World's include a 275 lb squat, a 155 lb bench press, and a 350 lb deadlift, bringing my total pounds to 780 lbs. This will break the all-time record for the conference's female SHW division!

I need your help, though. In order to get to World's, I'll have to fly out to Idaho, rent a car, pay for the meet entrance fees, eat clean food, and buy a new pair of powerlifting shoes.

In return, I'll share my training schedule with you, tell you all about my progress in my lifts, and (once I get to World's) keep you updated on my progress!
