Hi my name is Renee. I don't know what else to do so I'm doing everything and anything I can do.
This year my partner Jett Brewster who is only 23 years old was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. This cancer thing is tough but we are coping with it. Jett's positive attitude and eagerness to fight is incredible, he wants to prove the doctors wrong when they say there is no hope.
In his early teens Jett watched his father pass with pancreatic cancer and he is determine to fight cancer. His main escape from cancer and hospital and all that comes with this horrible diagnosis is camping and 4wd in his Hilux with his rooftop tent. He lives and breathes that car and I think it kept him on track you know. It's his pride and joy.
Unfortunately he hadn't insured it as of yet as money has been tight as he has been out of a job since January as radiation, surgery hospital appointments have kept him from working.
He had previously managed to score the job of a lifetime and secure a prosperous future with having a contract at BHP site to do something which he loved. Last year he broke his ankle and arm the day after signing a contract with them which he was devastated about. But eventually after his rehabilitation from that he was offered the job again and was delighted to start.
Unfortunately He was not there long and on January 2nd his happy new year suddenly came to a devastating halt. Jett had a seizure and was admitted to hospital and MRI scans showed a tumour the size of a large orange in his brain. From then Jett has had surgery, radiation numerous hospital visits and after a few hiccups is now receiving chemotherapy for the next 12 months. It has been a tough year to say the least. Jett also is interested in alternative / complimentary treatments some that are not offered here in Australia, some of which he doesn't believe would be possible as the cost of these treatments are very unaffordable for a 23year old that has nothing to fall back on and has lost everything. At the end of the day though Jett just wants to live every day happy and healthy like the rest of us.
A few weeks ago while camping with his mate and his mates 2 dogs, his car caught on fire and the dogs were trapped inside. This is so devastating for Jett and for his mate as his dogs were killed which is horrific in itself .
Unfortunately the dogs cannot be replaced. But His Hilux was his one escape from the cancer and we would like to do whatever we can for him. He loved the freedom he had with his 4wd and nicking off for a few days when it all got too much to sleep on a peaceful beach in his roof top tent n have a fish n then head back to reality. I don't really know what to say except I'm praying and hoping that someone will help us get this boys freedom back. He has suffered so very much in his short life and he deserves a break. Please help us if you can xxx
