I am a small town concert organizer who works to balance the needs of the performer with the needs of their host business or venue. I do not ask for high dollar payouts, this way I have more negotiating power for the artist, and I provide sound at below cost to help assist the venue and make small local acts more attractive.
I had been hoping that my current system would have lasted another year or two, because my current projections showed that I would be booking enough to where my nominal fee would have become a regular enough gig for me to renegotiate and manage to cover expenses and even start to make a difference (beyond a 1/4 tank of gas on odd days). Unfortunately, my glorious old and trusty SP-3G's blew a 5.5 inch speaker and a 15 inch speaker.
The issues that the system faces are old equipment and old infrastructure and with the delays in family legal suits collections, mounting medical bills, and this recent catastrophic failure have left me without monetary recourse to fund the replacement and upgrades necessary to ensure the best possible sound is available to every performer and for everyone that supports them.
If this campaign is successful it will pay for:
3 20-amp circuits to the DJ Booth (we have two, whose wires will be replaced). It will also ensure cleaner power delivery.
3 Furman Power Conditioners will be Puchased
1 500 watt amp Highs
1 1600 watt amp Mids
1 3000-3500 watt amp Lows
2 tweeter diaphrams (back-ups)
4 15-inch speakers for floor monitors and center fill (reposition existing amp for monitors and fill, Peavey Black Widow to reduce maintenance costs)
4 15-inch baskets to repair SP-3G's and as back-ups
2 400 watt 18-inch subwoofer cabinets (four would be nice, less wear per unit)
1 50' snake (will donate existing 100' snake to existing DIY styled venue)
$5,000 won't buy all of this new, but there are a lot of musicians and sound professionals that I know who are selling gear that should allow me to get damn close. I have also emailed Peavey in regard to becoming an Endorsed Venue/Promoter.
