Battling Stage 4 Colon Cancer

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Merlinda Ramirez, I'm 42 years young, married to my husband Robert 42 and mother of four wonderful kids, Andrew 24, Raymond 22, Ines 19 and Yvette 13. On July 29th I went to the E.R for vommiting and was told I had colon cancer, I was speechless and shocked to say the least. I didnt know how to react the main thing I was worried about was telling my children the bad news, at the time we didnt know what stage I was at all I knew was that I had colon cancer and according to my doctor  it was spreading rapidly. All that I could think about were my kids and my husband. My doctors were fast and got the ball rolling to get me started that following week  on what i needed to do before I went to stanford to get treated, that following monday I was already scheduled for a consulation to get a colonoscopy and ended up getting it that week with no wait. I was glad that my docotors were doing everything they can to get me to stanford as soon as possible, but on the other hand they werent saying much, you could tell they were worried , which made me and family worried because I still didnt know what stage I had. It wasnt until August 26th when I had my first visit with Stanford and it was then when Dr. Cici told me i had stage 4 colon cancer and not only was it in my colon but it had also traveled to my liver and right pelvic, which is why there are somedays where I can't walk because of the pain in my hips. At the time I  didnt know how to react all I could do was cry, I felt  comforted and blessed to have all my family there my kids, sisters, nieces and nephews, just them being there made me feel comforted. As of right now I just finished my second round of chemo and still have 16 more rounds to go. I have so much to look forward too, so much too live for. My oldest Drew recently just had our first grandbaby Westton who is now four months old having him around just brings me and my husband so much joy and lifts our spirits and for my Ray he recently just got married and I cant wait to be there for him when he starts his little family and one day visit him  in Alaska ,  and also watching Nes be indepedent and living on her own and watching my Vette do good in softball and in school. Unfortuanltley my husband is the only provider for our family and he has taken time off work to help care for me. Trips to Stanford have became costly and keeping up with bills have been tough. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time for reading my story.
