Reopening of the Women's Warming Center
The Total Mankind Ministry Women's Warming Center opened in November 2019 in the Newhallville neighborhood of New Haven, CT, and continued to operate on a seasonal basis through Summer 2020. In its short period of operation, it had grown to become a known safe haven for women in the community where we sought to assist those who were in need of shelter, warmth, safety, and resources. With the help of generous donors, we were able to provide these women with the services they needed during that time. However, due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, social distancing restrictions, as well as HVAC regulations, our present location was no longer suitable for housing the Warming Center, and sadly, we were forced to close our doors in August 2020. This resulted in a major setback for us, and a crushing disappointment to the women who relied so heavily on our services.
Now, we are working towards reopening the Women’s Warming Center, and we are requesting donations in an effort to rent, lease or purchase a larger facility within the community where we can operate for the entire year and provide even more services than before. We ask that you please partner with us in helping to reopen our center so we can once again offer much needed services and continue to make an impact in our community.
With deepest gratitude, we thank you.
