Help Sarah go to El Salvador

Querida familia y amigos (Dear Family & Friends):

¡Hola! En el verano de 2014...Hello! In the summer of 2014 a team of students, leaders and I from Kennesaw First Baptist Church will be traveling to El Salvador! This will be my FOURTH trip to the country of El Salvador. Once again we'll be aiding our host church, Miramonte Baptist, with evangelism in local churches and schools. This growing church has sent and is continuing to send missionaries all over the world as well as plant many churches in the surrounding areas. Our team will be ministering to the people of El Salvador in Orphanages, Schools, Street & Park Evangelism as well as door to door. We will also be performing Dramas and sharing our testimonies with those around us.

Bienvenido (Welcome)! Facts about El Salvador: Spanish translation is "Republic of The Savior", borders the Northern Pacific Ocean between Guatemala and Honduras. Although this country is smallest geographically in size in Central America, it has the third largest economy per capita income. El Salvador boasts a tropical climate with both wet and dry seasons; our trip will be during their "wet" season where the average temperature is 73 degrees with daily showers :) In 2001 El Salvador adopted the US dollar as its currency and the predominant religion practiced in El Salvador is Roman Catholic, 60% of the population.

Last year we were able to take our daughter Emma (10 years old at the time) with us. She had never been outside of the United States, so this as a huge step for her (and us :/). We were so excited for her to have this experience! What an amazing opportunity for her to see first-hand how others live and experience this culture so different from ours here in the United States! It was an incredible chance for her to minister to others and show the love of Christ in a way that we as adults may not be able to. She had a great time and hopes to go back in the future.

This trip is always a huge step for me as a Mom to leave my kiddos behind in the United States while we are in El Salvador for 7 days. But, I am so thankful and excited that God is allowing me this opportunity to be a part of His ministry in El Salvador! This year we will be taking an even larger group of highschool students, so I will be able to fulfill my "mom" role with 13 students :)

I urge you to be a part of what God wants to do and is doing in El Salvador. The first and most important way you can be included is through your prayers. Pray for those who are already ministering in El Salvador, for encouragement, focus, wisdom and faith of believers. Pray that God would reveal his truth and soften the hearts of the unbelievers there. Pray that God would already be preparing our team to be used by God and that we will walk away changed. Second, if you are able, I challenge you to be included financially. Each team member is raising $1500.00, by the beginning of June, to go on this trip. Would you also prayerfully consider how you might be involved in helping send us and God's love to El Salvador? I am very excited about this trip and seeing what God is going to do! Thank you for your support!!!
