Help Sam teach art in Kenya!

Hello! I hope this finds you and your family well. My name is Samantha Budow and I am a sophomore graphic design student at Boston University.

This summer, I will be spending a month in Kenya teaching art! As many of you know, I have always been passionate about the arts -- be it painting, drawing, music, or any other creative outlet -- and I am lucky enough to be around and immersed in art every day. My goal for Kenya is to bring the joys of art, creativity, and imagination into the daily lives of the children there, and leave them with the supplies and education to continue creating even once I'm gone.

The program I am traveling with is called International Volunteer HQ. IVHQ assists developing countries around the world by providing volunteers to work in a variety of jobs, including teaching, medical work, HIV/AIDS awareness, women empowerment, and orphanage assistance.

I am able to keep the cost of accommodations low with the support of this wonderful program, however flights, vaccinations, and other travel expenses that I need to cover are proving to be incredibly expensive. Additionally, I am hoping to raise enough money to purchase plenty of supplies for the classrooms and community. I am taking whatever opportunities I can to earn and save money, but I cannot accomplish this alone.
