STAND: The Haiti Project
Donation protected
*May 2017*
Myself and a crew of other health professionals will spend 2 weeks in Haiti involved with an incredible service experience.
-"STAND is a registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit charitable organization that is managed entirely by four directors for free in their spare time. All money raised by the organization goes to supplies, shipping, upkeep of the clinic in Haiti, etc."
-Patients begin lining up early in the morning and by 7:00 AM and we do as much as we can until sunlight shuts us down. We typically see up to 100+ patients per day, and its everything and anything you can imagine. In many cases, this is the only medical care these patients have EVER received.
-"This is a very intense, emotionally and physically challenging week. You will see poverty, famine, disability, and neglect like you have never imagined. There will be patients for whom you can do nothing... But there will also be patients whose lives you change dramatically, whose livelihood you restore, and whose lives you save, literally. At the end of the week, you will have memories, accomplishments, and experiences that will never leave your mind. This is truly the experience of a lifetime."
For me, this offers an opportunity to do something transcending; something real, invaluable, and most of all.... selfless.
I can not thank you enough for your contribution, no matter how big or small. I am honored to participate in something larger than myself.
