Hey everyone. My name is Nikki and I am desperately in need of your help to cover a lot of medical related expenses.
11 years ago I was diagnosed with a form of IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) called Crohn's Disease. It wreaked havoc on my body for many years and took a long time to get under control. I finally hit remission for about 3 years but unfortunately as of January of this year I discovered that I am no longer in remission.
After some screening procedures I was re-diagnosed with very severe Ulcerative Colitis (UC is just another form of IBD that's only in the colon). For the last 4 months I've been extremely ill and dealing with excruciating pain, significant weight loss, intestinal bleeding, extreme fatigue and weakness, significant muscle atrophy, nausea, anemia, and frequent trips to the bathroom.
Since facing an illness like this isn't enough, because my IBD is labeled as a "pre-existing condition" with insurance companies, my insurance has paid very little for the cost of doctors visits, 2 ER trips, medications, labs, and medical procedures and the outrageous medical bills are starting to flow in.
Due to the severity of my UC, I had to resign from my job and therefore I lost both my medical insurance and income. I've reached a point where I am unable to pay for very important and wickedly expensive medications that have been taking an edge off of my symptoms.
As you can imagine, being an uninsured chronically ill individual is very stressful and nearly impossible to deal with. Because of this I am currently facing an overwhelming amount of medical debt and with the end not yet being in sight, I have a lot of possible looming medical related expenses. The costs are high and my savings account is running low! I need your help!
