Ms Mollie's Medical/Funeral Expense

Donation protected
Ms. Mollie's life on earth may have only lasted 5 days, but the amount of hearts and lives she touched across the country was more than most people will touch in a lifetime.

Mollie's mommy and daddy (Stephanie & Josh Dustin) had prayed for this little girl for a long time.  After suffering several losses, and with Stephanie at the age of 42,  they were finally blessed with this beautiful little gift.  Stephanie & Josh were on cloud nine when they found out they were being blessed with a baby girl.  Stephanie was progressing well through her pregnancy, all genetic testing came back excellent, and there was no signs of danger.  Stephanie's baby shower invitations were mailed out on September 10th and we knew it was going to be a wonderful celebration.

On Sunday, September 11, 2016 our worlds changed forever.  At only 25 weeks and 5 days, Stephanie woke up feeling not quite right and she phoned her doctor.  Before we could get her out of the house Stephanie felt as if "something was coming".  Our hearts sank, because Stephanie's bag of water was bulging and Mollie was right behind it.  It can only be by a miracle that we were able to get Stephanie in the car without her water breaking and to the hospital without delivering at home.  There, they were able to give her medications and care that bought her an additional 24 hours of pregnancy so that she could receive vital doses of steroids to help Mollie's lungs mature and give her every ounce of help when she entered this big world.

On September 12, 2016 (Stephanie & Josh's wedding anniversary), Ms. Mollie entered our lives at 3:15 pm and our world was changed forever.  Our lives will forever be divided in half, and time will always be referred to as "before Mollie" and "after Mollie".

Mollie came out weighing a mere 1 pound 15 ounces, and was a fighter!  She was doing better than anyone could have expected!  She was off the vent in less than 24 hours and was doing so well.  Mollie's eyes were fused shut at delivery, but on day #3 while Mollie's mommy was holding her she asked the nurse when she thought Mollie would open her eyes..... and it was at that moment Ms. Mollie heard her mommy's voice and with great effort managed to open one eye and look at her mommy's sweet face..... and then she slowly opened the other!  Mollie's first sight in this great big world was her precious mommy's face!  What a sweet baby girl to give that moment to her mommy.

On September 17, 2016 at only 5 days old Mollie took a turn for the worse and was lifelined to Riley Children's Hospital because her status became increasingly critical.  While we all prayed the entire hour drive to reach her, but we couldn't have prepared ourselves for what would happen when we arrived.  Mollie became increasingly unstable within minutes of arriving to the hospital.

Stephanie & Josh were able to hold Mollie, talk to her, and whisper "I love you" as she gained her angel wings and flew to heaven to be with Jesus.  There are no words to explain the devastation they are going through and the amount of hurt and pain they are feeling.  While life on this earth makes no sense to us, we know that someday we will be able to see Mollie running, jumping, and playing in heaven and we must hold onto this promise.

For those who are able and feel led to offer condolences or assistance please feel free to donate to help Stephanie and Josh with the medical and funeral expenses for Mollie.  The upcoming days and months are going to be the most difficult days of their lives.  No one should have to worry about how they will bury their child, or how they can be off work to grieve.

Please pray for Stephanie & Josh and that they will find some peace in knowing they have a beautiful angel who will walk with them the rest of their days on earth.  No one could have loved a child more than Stephanie & Josh.  Watching my sister hold her baby while she passed away and hearing her whisper to Mollie "you gave me the best 5 days of my life" over and over again was the hardest thing I will ever endure.  Life is so hard to understand, but we must find comfort in knowing Mollie is in heaven and will always be with us.
