Hi Everyone!
I moved to NYC 10 years ago. It has been a dream of mine to work and progress as an actress and I promised myself I would do everything in my power to stay and make my career flourish. I spent 40+ hours a week working as a hostess, waitress, cocktail server, customer service operator, umbrella salesman, tea store hostess, and even sold party favors from a funny company to pay rent and invest in my career. I booked over a dozen commercials and voice overs, two co star roles and a short film. But I always put everything toward my career. Because of this, I have had no chance to really save or put money aside for things that I personally want to do.
I'm turing 31 friday Sept. 30 and I've had a few friends ask me what I want as a present. I usually shy away from gifts, but this year I really thought about what I would want and I realized that, for the past 10 years, I have taken only one trip for my own pleasure. I've tried to plan something or I've day dreamed about going somewhere, but I have always used the remainder of my funds to invest in my career. This year, I have the opportunity to enjoy going places and am taking a leap of faith that I can get there, with all of your help.
I am setting up this Go Fund Me through my birthday. If anyone was thinking of giving me a gift, this would be the most amazing present: the freedom of travel.
I've spent every moment, every penny, every heartache, cried every tear, worked around jobs, and jumped through hoops of fire for my career. It would mean the absolute world to me if you could assist me in this. Even $1 would be incredible.
