Saving Rosie

Hello, my name is Olivia Harrison. I am setting up this website in hopes of raising the funds needed for travel to and from San Antonio Texas and for time off from work to be a donor for a kidney transplant. My mom, Rosie is at the end stage of kidney failure and is in desperate need of a kidney. She has been on the transplant waiting list for a couple of years now, but we are running out of time. I asked the doctor a few years ago about being tested to become a donor. I was told that I was too overweight and had to lose a lot of weight in order to be considered as a donor. In December of 2011 I had a weight loss surgery. After lots of hard work, I am 9 pounds away from the required weight to be a kidney donor!! I have lost a total of 92 pounds and "Saving Rosie" has been my motivation! I was tested and I am not a match for my mom. **BUT** Texas has a donor exchange program where they will match us up with a donor and recipient who are a perfect match for us!!! We are now in the process of finding a match. Once that happens, both donors will go through extensive testing. When all is clear, the four of us will go into surgery at the same time and exchangee kidneys. How cool is that?!?! We will be helping two people at once!! Here's the thing:: I live in Youngsville, La and all testing and surgery has to be done in San Antonio , Tx. I will have to travel to San Antonio twice before the surgery takes place. Once the surgery takes place I will have to stay in San Antonio for two weeks for check ups with the doctors. My mom raised six children on her own. She has faced health issues along with financial and many other struggles for as long as I can remember. She stuck it out with the six of us. She never separated or gave up on us, when most would have. Please help me SAVE ROSIE!!! She is all that I have! She is so deserving of this transplant and most of all needs it to live! I don't want a lack of finances to prevent her or the other recipient from getting the transplant they so desperately need! Any amount will be appreciated.
