<li>Hi everyone! My name is Tricia Molls. A friend of mine and fellow graduate, Stewart McManus could use your help. In December 2024 Stewart wasn't feeling well, things just felt 'off'. He went to his primary Dr in early January and she set up multiple tests including PET scan, CT scan, MRI, and colonoscopy which resulted in the diagnosis of stage 3 rectal cancer. Stewart started treatment the end of February with a 2 day chemo pump, and the plan was to continue this every other week for 6 months. Meanwhile Stewart was rapidly losing weight, going from 220 lbs down to 156! At his next appt the Dr decided to switch his treatment to immunotherapy for 2 years. He was able to get short term disability through his employer for 4 months, but due to not being able to work he had to leave his job as a welder/fabricator. Stewart applied for ss benefits but was told the soonest he would hear back would be December 15. Stewart recently had a CT scan, (looked good) an MRI, (results not in yet) and a sigmoidoscopy scheduled later this month. He is feeling better now and has put on some weight but hasn't been able to work since the end of February. He is thankful for a few family and friends who have helped him out, but he has no money coming in for rent, utilities and every day expenses.
