Hello my name is Ethan Gillen and I am a Boy Scout with Troop 217. I am currently a Life Scout working toward my Eagle rank.
As a part of my journey to earning my Eagle rank, one of the important things that I must do is to perform a service project that helps a worthy organization in my community.
For my project, I will be building two secure storage units for a wonderful organization know as "Pay It Forward Farm", an organization that helps single mothers and children in our community.
The Pay It Forward Farm is a multicultural community that benefits single women and single mothers and their children, while teaching a self-reliant and sustainable lifestyle and becoming a launching point for positive action in the “pay it forward” spirit of giving back to the world.
Their motto is: "Empowering Women to Overcome Life's Barriers with a Hand Up and Not a Hand Out"
In this video you will learn what my project is all about, what I will be doing for them and how it will benefit "Pay It Forward Farm",
I will be organizing an effort to build additional secure storage units that will hold donated items that will benifit the single mothers and children in need. Furniture and household items that are donated to their organization are sold to generate the funds necessary to help support single mothers in our community. Excess items are then donated to other single mothers in third world countries, giving them much needed and often scarce items not available in their own countries.
Without these secure storage units, these items are left out in the open, making them more suseptable to theft or for nature to take its course and damage the items.
As you can see this is a very big project, so I am going to need all of the help that I can get to purchase all of the materials and supplies that will be needed to build these secure structures.
