Mom's Small Cell Lung Cancer FUND

Recently our mother was given news that everyone dreads in their life..."YOU HAVE CANCER". My name is Angie Droen and my sister Andrea Soldwisch are reaching out to all friends, family, etc to share her story. Our mother, Connie Pappas was recently diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer. Because this is fast spreading, surgery is not an option. However, we were informed on a positive note that this cancer was caught in a "limited" stage and not extensive so she does have a very good chance of beating this beast! With that said, there is still going to be a long and difficult road ahead considering she'll not only have 37 treatments of Radiation Oncology and 4 months of Chemotherapy. To top everything else, she also has been dealing with her Lupus for decades. It has been a whirlwind of imaging appointments, consultation visits, port placement and the biggest challenge being
STRESS! Not only does she have copays every time she sees a doctor but she will also have to cut back on working meaning- less income to pay bills. For those who know our mom personally, you know she is a stubborn, workaholic with a Heart as big as GOLD. She will be starting her radiation treatment this week and then both chemotherapy/radiation therapy the following week. Our goal is to immediately start raising funds of $8,000 and more  to use towards cancer treatment, bills for loss of income/time off of work, and prescriptions. We would be the utmost thankful and appreciative of any one that can help no matter what amount. Our biggest and main concern is to alleviate as much stress as possible and to keep our mom staying positive and fighting this disease so that she can live to see her grandbabies graduate and more!!
