A Broadway Experience

Broadway is an amazing cultural experience that we as New Yorkers have access to in our own backyard. While most of my students live blocks away from the bright lights, they have never seen a Broadway show. I have been wanting to afford children this experience since I first became a teacher in NYC 8 years ago. I feel that my love of theater was nurtured by the fact that I was afforded the opportunity to go to Broadway shows with my parents and schools I attended. However, this is not the case for these students.


One of the classes I work with has 12 students in it and they are all special education students. I would love to be able to take them to see Spiderman and expose them to Broadway. I want them to feel the vibration of the sounds, be amazed by the choreography, and moved by the singing. This is a once in a lifetime chance for them.


Please help me give these students this experience they will remember for the rest of their lives.
