My name is Natalie Vause. I am seeking help for a 2year old
German Shepherd in critical care.
On my way home on 4/20/13 around 6:00 pm I came upon a German Shepard lying helplessly in the road. (Old Winter Garden Rd., near the Frisco Bay Community Entrance.) This large breed dog was the unfortunate incident of a hit and run. This poor creature had blood coming from his mouth and was unable to walk, but seemed alert. With the help of a hand full of animal lovers, a CBI security officer, and an Orange County Sheriff Officer he was taken to the Emergency Pet Hospital on White road.
Apollo spent 2 days in intensive care to evaluate the extent of his internal injuries. This animal has an amazing spirit and pulled through just fine. He required extensive and expensive surgery to fix a broken leg. We couldn't justify having this beautify animal put down because of a broken leg. The surgery took place on 4/25/13 at the University of Florida. He will be recovering at the Emergency Pet hospital for next few months. Our next focus will be on to repair the broken teeth.
My family and I are willing to foster him during his long road to recovery however our funds are limited. We are asking for anyone who is willing and able to help please, please let us know. We are still in need of monetary donations to help pay for his vet care. However, I understand that not everyone is able to help, financially. Thus far, Eric and I have paid 2,000.00 out of pocket on Apollos care. The cost surgery at the University of Florida was 3,800.00 and he continues to have ongoing care with the Emergency Pet hospital.
