Ailish Sheehan passed away on September 9, 2016 in Poland after a fall. She was surrounded by her family as she took her last breath. Ailish had just won a bronze medal for Team Great Britain at the FISU World University Rowing Championships.
She grew up in Kildimo, Ireland, was a member of St. Michael's Rowing club, and graduated from Salesian Secondary.
She was also a 2015 graduate of the University of Notre Dame in the U.S., where she competed with the women's rowing team as a scholarship recruit.
Funds will be sent to the Sheehans (John, Catherine, Niamh and Aine) to defray the costs of their extended stay in Poland and to contribute to Ailish's celebrations of life in Ireland and elsewhere. More information about these will be passed along as we are updated by the family.
