Wilma’s Medical Expenses

Hello family and friends. I started this Go Fund me account in hopes to help my parents through this thought time.

Sweet Wilma was diagnosed in 2017 with Oral cancer. She had surgery that year to remove a tumor in her mouth, deemed to be at stage 3. During surgery they had found that it had unfortunately spread to her lymph nodes. They were able to remove the lymph nodes but were unsure at that time if it had spread to any other location in her body. Wilma then began the treacherous journey of receiving chemotherapy & radiation to her mouth area. After the chemo & radiation was completed, a PET scan showed that there were signs of continued cancer in her lungs at stage 1. Her oncologist decided to continue with the radiation to the lung area, but chemo wasn’t needed at that time. After the second PET scan, they felt the area in her lungs may be scar tissue due to its cloudy nature. Since then, as her body continued to attempt to heal, she has been battling an infection in her lungs causing severe wheezing and Bronchitis. She also suffered from painful fluid in her lungs. Recently she also struggled with a case of Shingles.

Due to her cancer & medications, her kidney function is not as the doctors would like. Recently she’s been hospitalized due to confusion, medical reasons & mainly because of her kidney function. During the hospitalization, they ran more tests finding that her cancer has spread & that she has stage 3 cancer in her liver, the remaining lymph nodes, and possibly in her lungs.

Wilma has not been given a prognosis at this time, and will not be able to make plans for treatment until she is able to be discharged from the hospital and to have a follow up with her oncologist.

The medical bills are piling up, as well as their every day living expenses! My Dad has been there for my Mom every step of the way! I know that where there is a WILL there is a WAY!
