Help with expenses from medical emergency
Donation protected
Hi I’m Aleta and raising funds to assist Matt and Cami’s recent trip to hospital. We recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary! The next day Matt was whisked to the hospital and due to complications his surgery was delayed. I’m not good at retaining medical info but I know love and devotion when I see it. Cami is out of town staying near Matt and now hotel rates went up due to SU students returning. Besides that extra expenses to care for their cats left behind, gas food, equipment necessary back at home. Matt’s a Vietnam vet and both are community minded and live off grid. Let’s ease things for them and show some love. Hoping for a big 26th next summer y’all!
“Dearest friends and kind helpers. General update. It has been a terrible and frightening time. However,I am feeling a bit of hope today because they found nothing growing in his stomach. Instead the endoscopy found stomach hernia which they can give medication for. This morning he is stronger and can reach for a small cup of water that i hold out to him. I can much better understand his whispering words because he has enough power to make volume. They are treating a blood infection and medication is working. He also has pneumonia. They will want him to have a feeding tube soon, maybe straight to his stomach. He hates this idea but i must convince him. He’s had nothing to eat but the apple sauce mixed with his meds for 12 days… (after eating only several bites a day tor many weeks. Just hoping that fixing the esophagus and multiple infections will give him the ability to eat. Thank you for the incredible kindness and generosity of our stellar community. Also we GREATLY appreciate the quality care from The Syracuse VA doctors and overworked nurses. All very supportive of our Veterans. Thinking that maybe all will be well after all….however long it takes. Hundreds of prayers are going out for his health THANK YOU! May sweet mercy prevail. GO MATT MAN!!”
