Baby Sloan's Medical Fund

This GoFundMe page has been established for the healthcare of Devin and Candace Mitchell's son, Sloan Everett Mitchell. They are a sweet couple from Alabama who recently relocated to Washington state due to Devin's active service in the United States Navy. On August 19th, 2016, Candace, at 33 weeks pregnant, began experiencing extreme swelling and became concerned with the health of Baby Sloan. After consulting with her local doctors, she was sent to see a specialist in Seattle who promptly discovered multiple masses on Sloan's liver. The situation was deemed so critical that Devin, who was on active deployment overseas, was permitted to come home on emergency leave. Candace was admitted to Swedish Medical Center and Sloan Everett Mitchell was delivered on August 24th at 1:01 pm. He was 19 inches long and weighed 8 lbs 4 oz. Shortly after Sloan's birth, he was transferred to Children's Hospital while Candace stayed at Swedish Medical Center to recover due to complications from delivery. Through a series of tests with a team of specialists, Sloan was diagnosed with neuroblastoma on August 27th and immediately began chemotherapy. Devin is currently staying at the Ronald McDonald House, where he will be joined by Candace when she is discharged from Swedish Medical Center. The first round of chemo for baby Sloan will last 42 days. During this time, the most important thing that we can do is pray for Sloan, Devin, and Candace. The second most important thing we can do is give. Not everyone can make a large donation, but everyone can give a little something - even $5.00 will help.

Devin and Candace wish to express their gratitude for everyone who has called, texted, and donated during this extremely difficult time. They are praying and believing for a miracle - for Sloan to respond to treatment and for his cancer to be completely eradicated from his body.
